Mirrors & A Mess

Thought I would show you another love of mine....
Mirrors.

Even have an old mirror hanging out in the garage by the sink.
One thing about mirrors is that they reflect......
Like reflect a Mess.

Warning:
Next few pictures could result in loss of sleep, nightmares, horrible feelings of judgement, etc.

The office...
really need to get in there and get a little (just a little) more organized.

The garage....
at least there is a walk way.  Sideways walk way count?

I could give you a list of excuses...

~I keep finding great goodies.

~It's summer vacation.

~It's too hot.

~It's been raining (freak of nature).

~I've been partying too much (Mr. Smith and my birthdays were this week).

~My kids are enjoying Mom-not "leave me alone I'm working", Mrs. Smith mode.

~Watching too many movies and staying in our PJ's till noon or later.

~Watching trashy shows
(like Real Housewives of whatever the location).

~Watching educational TV
 (science channel and history channel).

~Watching Ghost Adventures
(laughing and scaring each other).

~Eating

~Sleeping

~Shopping (gotta go grocery shopping too).

~Catching up on my 300 blogs that I follow and haven't had time to read lately.

~Reading

~Swimming

~Swimming at my folks and eating of course.

~Mr. Smith has been traveling for work
(a third of the mess in the office is his).

So it will get cleaned up eventually.

What are vacations for?

Birthday Party Bash!

A little self portrait here....looks like I'm about to jump out of a plane.  Nope just getting ready to race!  My birthday party bash started off Saturday morning at the race track.

Cousins, friends, my folks and my family took to the track.  Everyone had a great time and we all agreed that we will need to race again!

Mr. Smith has been on the road for work so he had some help getting the party ready.

Ann and myself stuffing the zebra pinata.

He was just so cute, I couldn't destroy him so we just dumped the candy out (plus we don't have a large tree where we could hang him up).

My Grandma (who will be 89 in August) joined in on the fun too!

Great day racing, eating, swimming, and just hanging out with family and friends.

My birthday isn't till tomorrow and Mr. Smith's birthday  was yesterday-so we've been partying all week.

Succulents

I must confess, I'm a little obsessed with succulents.  So I thought I would do a post on all the succulents and the containers that I use.
This is my newest one - sitting out by the front door.  I keep transplanting the string of pearls so you'll be seeing them everywhere.

So easy to take care of.  Inside the home and outside too!
 No faux ones here!

In my backyard are the older ones.  I put them in crocks, terra cotta planters and even urns outside.  We freeze here so they stay under the patio during the winter.

Succulents-my not so secret obsession!

How to make an outdoor buffet table out of salvaged items

Mr. Smith and I have been collecting items for the past year to make an outside buffet table.
Old door, chippy wrought iron pieces, bed rails, and a couple of pieces of new steel beams -all came together the other day.

We put this very heavy table under the kitchen window.
We plan on putting wood slates on the bed rails so I can put my flower pots on the second shelf.

Great location next to the BBQ.
I've always dreamed of having an outdoor kitchen.
Maybe one day we will find an old sink and install it into the buffet table.
Can't wait to use the new buffet table for Father's Day!

Dog days of summer.....I wonder where they got that phrase?

Since my door is white and Snow White is white-I'll be joining Kathleen for White Wednesday!

Roses & Rust Vintage Home and Garden Market

Great Show on Saturday at Roses & Rust!
Despite the rainy weather my Mom and I were so busy-quick trips to the restroom were the only time we left our booth!

Since Mr. Smith and Boy Wonder went to Lewiston's Peddlers Faire on Saturday as well (they too had a better than expected turn out in the rain)-we decided to keep it simple. Which meant no big pieces of furniture-just lots of smalls.

Great show and we will be back in October!

Last 2 Weeks of School+ 2 kids= Busy!

Note to self-"Do not try to schedule 4 days of working the last 2 weeks of school."

Need I say the last 2 weeks of school are chocked full of field trips, performances, awards ceremonies, and parties.
Drama Queen dancing (She is wearing orange behind the boy who is wearing orange).  Only picture of the performance besides the 2 minute video which I thought you might want to pass on.

Boy Wonder doing Improv-I think he was trying to defuse a bomb.

Same day-same shirt- Boy Wonder getting the Science  Award Plaque.

Drama Queen on the Old Shasta field trip-drilling holes in wood.

Trying to pack for our 2 shows this Saturday when rain and hail were upon us.

Taking advantage of cooler weather still so I baked 7 loaves of bread.  These 3 loaves are well.....gone already.

Drama Queen getting an award for Social Science.

While organizing and packing for this coming Saturday-I was inspired to actually decorate my mantel.

I went with a summer theme so I can leave it up till I redecorate for fall.

Mr. Smith and Boy Wonder (who will be selling his duct tape wallets and book bags) will be at Lewiston Peddlers Fair on Saturday representing The Smith Hotel.

My mom and I will be working at Roses & Rust Vintage Home and Garden Market.  I will try to remember to take pictures once I get set up today.

Last day of school today and after this world wind weekend, I plan to relax!
