Refreshed Office

Remember about a month ago-my post on Mirrors & A Mess?

Well let me refresh your memory!

This is our home office that Mr. Smith and I share.

It was his office originally-hence the dark wood furniture and coffee color decor(he wanted to feel like he was in a coffee shop).

A week of pulling everything out and reorganizing.

I have a desk I can use now.

I actually found things in that pile that I was looking for!
Funny how that works!
Of course, my desk already has papers strewn across it.
It is a bit of a squeeze when Mr. Smith is sitting in his big leather chair and I need to get something in the dressers.
Oh well, what would life be if not for the challenges?
Come back and visit soon!
I'm working on a giveaway that keeps on giving!

Nest Summer Soiree Sale

Nest Summer Soiree Sale last night hosted by the lovely ladies from
We took over the backyard.
Furniture, jewelry, live music, yummy food and drinks = a festive evening.

I kept my display simple.
VBS at my church all week and I was cooking for 150 kids so by Friday I was running on fumes.

Wonderful evening with creative ladies!

New/Old Screen Door

Bought this screen door last year at a garage sale.
Had it in my booth for awhile, even tried to sell it at a show.
No Dice.
So it was sitting in the garage waiting....

The weather has been so nice and mild here-we opened all our windows.
Even though it's a newer house, our large windows just have little sections that open.
We needed more air flow through the house.

On a whim, I asked Mr. Smith to measure the screen door.

 It was a Perfect Fit!

Now I know why it never sold-it was meant to stay here!

In other news,
the family has been swimming nightly.
It's our little way of saving the environment with less showers for the kids.
Except for tonight, Drama Queens' hair really needed some serious shampooing.

Our Vacation for the Summer

Mr.Smith participated in
LIVESTRONG.
His little 105 mile bike ride in 95+ degree weather on Sunday, in Davis, CA.

I kept the kids occupied for 8+ hours:

California State Railroad Museum

Old Sacramento

Arden Fair Mall

Of course, we spent time with Mr. Smith on Saturday visiting:

Travel-My Theme

Travel

Just my little interpretation of vintage traveling.

Globes, travel posters, suitcases, trunks.....

Well you will see what I mean.

Love globes!

My newest one is the little bank-garage sale find $2!

Like the travel sign?

Mrs. Chambers, over at Chambersmade made it.

Check out her cute sign she made for her front porch.

Love my Crater Lake poster!

No, it's not crooked just height challenged operator err.

Another globe way up high.

Fun, ratty suitcases that have seen lots of travel.

In the cabinet surrounding the TV,
I framed postcards & pictures of places we have traveled!

Trunks that we have had forever.

My dad bought the wood box while I was still in high school for $5-it's been mine ever since!

Mr. Smith and I picked up the large trunk at a garage sale in Weaverville for $15 years ago.

So what do you think?

It's kinda of subtle.
If you came to my house you might not pick up on the theme right away!

Oh except when you trip over Mr. Smith's suitcase that seems to land in front of the TV when he gets home!

Thanks for traveling with me around my house!

Happy Travels!
