Decorating with my Mom

Getting a jump start on Christmas at my parents.
Last night my Mom and I decorated their tree.
We were going with the woodland and bird theme.
Red, white, lime green, and silver was the color combination.

The pictures don't do the tree justice.

It is definitely not a kid-proof tree.

Manzanita branches are poking out every which way.

No traditional star on top.
Just branches, feathers ,ribbon and a bird.

Then we decided to decorate the mantle.
They have a narrow mantle and we needed to make sure we got the stocking holders placed.
Plus we couldn't find the thick garland.
So we improvised.
We had a couple packs extra of red sparkly curly stick thingys.

Since the fireplace is in the family room we went with red and gold this time.
Plus we were just using what we had.

Mom and I were laughing at all the red sticks.
Totally not how we had planned it but oh well such is life.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

  1. Your decorations are really pretty. I like the mantle. I am enjoying visiting all of my friends and seeing their decorations. I am taking a break from my embroidering for a little while. Have a great weekend. Your Missouri Friend
