Cheap,Fast,Easy Christmas Card Display

Step 1. Gather Christmas Cards and a roll of tape.

Step 2. Find an empty door (our front door).

Step 3. Tape Cards onto door.

Step 4. Repeat when more cards arrive in mail.

As far as traditions go, apparently taping cards to the back of our front door is a tradition.  Boy Wonder got the mail the other day and pointed out that we needed to start taping our cards to our door.

No fancy card holder needed.

A Very Simple Christmas

As I mentioned before this will be a very simple Christmas for us.

I mean really simple.

Wrapped the gifts today.

Ah yes the stockings....I know not a "perfect" shot of lovely stockings....Nope just stockings that are hanging kinda of funky.

I added the candle canes for a little color.

Best thing about those candy canes....I found them in the garage in a bag probably from last year after Christmas sales...I love "shopping" my garage.

Added some red and white ribbon to the candles.

My stocking hanger that I had custom made for us years ago.

This is my newest addition which my Mom bought for me this year.

Isn't he cute?

Excuse the lumpy mess of a couch...Snow's favorite perch is on the back corner of the couch.

I even wrapped the couch and chair in my pieces of quilt. Only this time I flipped it to the green and white ticking side.

Yes, even Snow matches the Christmas decor this year!

Craft Chaos

Right now my arms are hanging over this mess while I type....

Making Christmas Tags...

On the kitchen table is a few little ornaments I made from my felted sweaters...

More Owls in the process.  Going to work on some Scrabble piece pendants and maybe a necklace or two.

Gotta finish these projects so there's room for us to eat dinner tonight.

I can't seem to do just one project at a time....

Oh yeah,I also made homemade granola this morning too.

I think it's time for a Dr. Pepper!

Booth ReDo and Honey

Met Honey...

She came with me to the booth today.
Best place to put her was safely buckled in the back seat.

Here's a look at my new locked cabinet.

Excuse the pictures....
Not the easiest to take with the light in the booth and while talking to my neighbor.

A window in a window.....what a concept!

Noel sign looks saggy because it kept falling down so I just tied it to the spindles on the cabinet.

Wondering what happened to Honey?  Well, she had a nightgown on but she got a little cold.

So of course, she had to wear her mink stole.

Did I mention that she is a Diva?

Mr. Smith came along to help to and he took this picture of me moving stuff around the booth.
It's only a 10 feet by 10 feet space!

What to do with house numbers

I love numbers.

I love them on baskets.

I have painted numbers on 2 baskets and sold them at my booth.

I am always on the look out for fun baskets plus house numbers.

I had something in mind.

House numbers already have holes so I used jute to hold them to the basket.
I love that the numbers have polka dots embossed in them.  Adds a little more interest.

I am almost tempted to keep it myself.  Wouldn't it be cute on a hearth with little presents inside?  It would fit on my hearth perfectly.

A Minimalistic Christmas....back to basics

This year I am shaking things up a bit....

I'm  going to keep the Christmas decor very minimalistic...

Think Red and White.....

This is our tree.....

I put the tree up on a little table with a vintage Christmas tablecloth.

See the stockings?  Yep.....the tree and the stockings.....that is it!

Boy Wonder got the privilege to put the star up on top this year.....No ladders needed!

Not only am I going minimalistic on the Christmas decorations.....the gift department is going to be minimalistic too.

This year with Mr. Smith losing his job in January...working 4 other jobs....now with a good job again....We aren't financially able to go all out.  Quite frankly after this year, I don't really have any desire to go all out.  Could be that I'm having surgery on December 27th (hence the slim decor-since I'll be in the hospital recovering and won't be able to put them away).

We are getting back to basics.....like the real reason we celebrate Christmas (Thank you Jesus!).

I tried to tell Boy Wonder the other day that he has his Mother's Love that keeps on giving and Jesus' Love that keeps on giving so why would he need anything more than that?  Ok, he is 12 years old and we will see how that flies on Christmas.....He told me he just wants cash....

Redid my Christmas Wreath to go with our Red and White theme this year.....

Nothing fancy just some odds and ends.   Hung it on my "Front Door" that is in the entry way of our house.  Not our real front door...just the one that is hanging out next to it....

Oh yeah,
when you aren't spending alot....
the shopping gets done early....

Yep,
I am basically done.

I didn't even go out on Black Friday.

Done....

Just need to get Boy Wonder his cash (which won't be much either-but he has his Mothers' and Jesus' love).
