Happy New Year!

Wishing everyone a wonderful new year!

As always, this time of year brings thoughts of what the new year will hold and the past year fulfilled.

As a Mom and Wife, I'm always thinking ahead to try to be the best I can be.
Priorities need to be reevaluated, dreams dreamed, and how to juggle it all.

May the year 2012 be everything you dreamed it will be and more!

Hugs,
Mrs. Smith

Happy Holidays from The Smith Hotel! White Christmas Home Tour

Welcome!

White Christmas is the theme this year!

Boy Wonder really wanted a White Christmas.

Next year Drama Queen wants a colorful Christmas.

Mr. Smith tried to talk the kids out of a tree this year but we almost had a full scale RIOT on our hands!

We now have white lights on the house too!

Added a little tinsel tree for a festive look.

Need a little sign for my hook by the front door.  I made a large shipping tag sign out of creme paper and some glitter letters(had to be creative with the wording-working with the letters I had left).

Mr.Smith's folks gave us a nativity set.
Fits perfect on a small silver tray.

Boy Wonder putting the star on top of the tree this year!

Was going to put branches in the tree like we did at my folk's house but before decorating our tree both kids boldly told me no branches were going in our tree.

So I just used them on the fireplace mantle instead!

Just couldn't bring myself to take everything off the tv cabinet after Halloween so I just added to it!

Happy Holidays!

Decorating with my Mom

Getting a jump start on Christmas at my parents.
Last night my Mom and I decorated their tree.
We were going with the woodland and bird theme.
Red, white, lime green, and silver was the color combination.

The pictures don't do the tree justice.

It is definitely not a kid-proof tree.

Manzanita branches are poking out every which way.

No traditional star on top.
Just branches, feathers ,ribbon and a bird.

Then we decided to decorate the mantle.
They have a narrow mantle and we needed to make sure we got the stocking holders placed.
Plus we couldn't find the thick garland.
So we improvised.
We had a couple packs extra of red sparkly curly stick thingys.

Since the fireplace is in the family room we went with red and gold this time.
Plus we were just using what we had.

Mom and I were laughing at all the red sticks.
Totally not how we had planned it but oh well such is life.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Haunted Mansion Style

Been busy with shows so my house was feeling a little neglected.
Took down the summer stuff off the mantle.  Started decorating the mantle then it ended up spilling onto the TV cabinet.
There was some screaming involved when I had Boy Wonder help me heft the large mirror.  Drama Queen screamed "I can't look!"
 While I screamed "I can't drop it!"
I don't normally decorate scary at home but I dug around my piles of goodies and well my (over active~I read way too many mystery books) mind just went wild!

And yes, the kids did think it was too scary.  Probably didn't help that I bought a scary CD to play too!
Muh ha ha ha!
