Chalkboard

While the kids and Mr. Smith were out at Whiskeytown lake canoeing on Sunday afternoon, I did a little redecorating.

I took down the 3 family pictures and replaced it with a chalkboard that I love and never sold (yeah for me).

As a mom, I get tired of  constantly repeating myself on a daily basis for the kids to do some basic things.

The kids noticed the chalkboard.  Will it work?
Yeah probably not-I'll be back to repeating myself.

I could have added more things on the list-

Don't forget your shoes for school (Drama Queen).

Clean your ears (Boy Wonder).

Feed the dog.

Pick up dirty clothes and wet towels.

Hug Mom and tell her you love her.

Wake up and get to the breakfast table in a timely fashion.

Don't bother Mom on Thursday nights while she is watching Vampire Diaries.

Tell Mom that you love all the meals she fixes.

Yeah, I would need a bigger chalkboard for that!

Week 5 Post Op-Making Cupcakes

One of my friends gave me this cupcake cookbook as a gift.  Right now I'm not into the whole pretty decorations-I'm more into the make them fast so I can eat them fast!

Yep, I'm too lazy to even type out the recipe.

They turned out very yummy.  I omitted the actual almonds-sometimes I feel like a nut and sometimes I don't.

Day 30 in PJ's-Getting out of the house!

I've been venturing out of the house a little more lately and not spending so much time in PJ's!

I've even been inspired to make some sweet little Valentine's Day pendants.

I love owls.

Drama Queen and I made owl pendants to wear for Thanksgiving.

So I thought it would be fun to make them for Valentine's Day too!

I added them to my Etsy shop!

Nice to have some sunshine to be inspired and off the heavy medication too!  I promised myself that I would take the month of January off to recover from surgery.  Well, ok so I had Mr. Smith help me add a few items to my booth at Oregon Street Antique Mall yesterday.

Until next time...

Day 24 in PJs

Day 24 in PJs.....

I'm healing slowly.  Trying to do my best to get a little walking in everyday and not lifting anything.

I've moved from nightgowns (they drive me bonkers trying to sleep in them) to my wonderful flannel bottoms with the adjustable waist.  Glad I kept my "fat" jeans or I would be stuck wearing sweats every time I go out.

Sorry, but right now decorating isn't really on my mind.  Mr. Smith came home on Saturday from a business trip to South Dakota and he was not feeling too well.

Monday morning he went to see his doctor and found out he has pneumonia.  So the kids were shipped off to my folks house this week so we could try to heal.

Such is life right now at The Smith Hotel.
Today I plan on watching some movies-I am getting so tired of watching TV.

Mr. Smith started his own little blog in December....

It's all about his travels.

Day 13 in PJs

My brain is foggy (due to drugs).
My sleeping is messed up (Can't go to sleep till 1am and drag out of bed 11 or 12 hours later).
 I have the weirdest dreams.
I live in a sea of pillows, pjs, magazines, books and tv.
I eat whatever Mr. Smith gives me (thankful for all the homemade meals people have dropped by).
I walk around the backyard to get some exercise in my pjs and zebra stripped robe.
I stare at the living rooms walls.
I ask Mr. Smith if I could have him paint a new color for me on the 3 walls that are now painted a buttery yellow.
Mr. Smith says "Ok, just let me know what color you would like me to paint them".
I can't drive right now so I'm sure he feels safe in saying that-since I can't go get paint samples.
He has been several times to Home Depot but no paint chips come back with him.
My brain is fuzzy with the wonderful pain numbing effects of Norco.
The sun is shining, I think I will take a couple of spins around the backyard.
I will think about the new color I would like for the living room walls.
I will get back in bed and read a little.
  Take a little nap.
This is my life right now.
I missed all the after Christmas sales.
I haven't been to a thrift store in over 3 weeks.
Mr. Smith put away our little Christmas tree and stockings while I laid in my comfy chair with Drama Queen's Littlest Pet Shop Comforter.
Ah the joys of post op.

I took these pictures at night.

Not going to make any decision about the living room until I'm thinking more clearly aka off the meds.

So that's my post for today.
Me-drugged up thinking about having Mr. Smith paint the living room walls.  Yep, it's cause for some serious excitement.

Anyone have any ideas what color I should have Mr. Smith paint?  I was thinking of a shade or two darker than the kitchen walls- grey.
